Lincoln, NE -- Members of the Nebraska cycling community converged on the Holiday Inn in southwest Lincoln, Saturday, January 21 to discuss the upcoming race season at the Nebraska Cycling Association Annual Meeting.

In addition to our Officials Clinic, Promoters Workshop and annual meeting, USAC Midwest Region Coordinator, Larry Martin was on hand to discuss changes with USA Cycling. Most notable was "paperless" registration through the USAC online registration service. Beginning in 2012, riders over the age of 18 will be able to register online and provide an electronic signature rather than having to fill out a release form on race day. USAC will also be requiring a "minimum officials" rule for different disciplines to alleviate confusion and provide better service.

The day started with the USAC Officials Clinic, lead by Kevin Murray, Officials Coordinator. Some of the topics covered included, a review of the 2012 USA Cycling rule book and a discussion on the assignment process for officiating races.
