Support the Nebraska Cycling Association! Finally, the NCA helps coordinate and schedule races and other events in Nebraska. The goal is to ensure a full and well-rounded schedule with opportunities for cyclists of all tastes and skill levels to participate and excel. The NCA is funded via membership to USA Cycling. A percentage of every road, track, and mountain annual license is returned to the local associations. Consequently, every Nebraska resident with a USAC annual license is a member of the Nebraska Cycling Association. The NCA uses these funds to train promoters and officials, to communicate information back to riders, and to help foster quality events in Nebraska. The NCA board holds regular meetings and a general membership meeting will be held annually. The first NCA annual membership meeting is set tentatively for December 2008. The NCA board is made up of the following individuals: • John Lefer Jr. – NCA President and Permit Coordinator • John Peterson – Vice President/Webmaster • Kelly Soden – Treasurer • Jon Downey – Secretary • Kevin Burke – Upgrade Coordinator • Sean Weide – Officials Coordinator • Ryan Feagan – MTB Advisor • Rozxanne Abbott –Promotional Advisor • Cheryl Gerkins – Women’s Racing Advisor • Marco Vasquez – Omaha Metro Area Representative • Dan Spray – NE Area Representative • Dan Schuldt – Tri-Cities Area Representative Anyone can be involved and everyone is encouraged to get involved in the NCA. Membership is easy – just join USA Cycling and membership in the NCA will be counted. Membership has perks in the form of a package of NCA-branded items such as water bottles and other items that are given to each member of the NCA. Communication is always the key and is encouraged by the NCA. Call, write, email, or grab a NCA staff member at an event and communicate concerns and ideas freely. The NCA belongs to the riders and race promoters. It exists to help riders and promoters and to further cycle sport in Nebraska. Be a part of it! |
